Banana Bread Fiasco in the Kitchen

How it's supposed to look

How it's NOT supposed to look.

This is probably the millionth time, yes, I'm exaggerating, but not by much, that I have attempted and I use the word, "Attempted" loosely baking Banana Bread.

I get a fantastic recipe that was given to me by a co-worker that swore it was the best recipe, it was her grandmothers, and yes, it sounded marvelous!  I couldn't wait to try it out!

I buy my bananas, beautiful, fresh and waited. patiently  for them to ripen. The day finally arrives! So, I gathered all of the ingredients, and follow the recipe to a T.  Yup! I'm thinking to myself, "This is one is definitely going to work out!!"

About 45 minutes into baking, I could smell the lovely fragrance of baked banana bread. The smell was wayfaring and tingling my taste buds.  I waited, with great anticipation, for the timer to go off.

After one hour, BINGO! The timer goes off, and I rush into the kitchen, opened the oven door and behold, a beautiful, well-formed, lightly browned banana loaf bread, or breads, I used two separate glass loaf pans.  The smell was divine.

The moment comes...and I slice into the bread, perfection! The wait was well worth it. It was DELICIOUS! And then...it happened. The next slice and the next slice after that was nothing but goo! It was a huge GOOEY mess!  WTH?

Ughh....  I cut off the good parts of the bread and set it aside on a plate, then proceeded to re-bake the gooey part, no matter how long I baked it, the gooey, goopy me mess, refused to bake.

Sadly, my kid, got sick eating this rubbish. Into the garbage it went...

End of sad, banana bread, story.

HAPPY NEW YEAR - 2024
